Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern all sales, quotations, and use of this website operated by Alumina Haus Pty Ltd, unless expressly varied by written agreement. Information, quotations, and specifications provided via this website or by Alumina Haus do not constitute professional advice regarding construction, engineering, regulatory compliance, or certification, and must not be treated as such for the purposes of building approvals or regulatory submissions. Full responsibility for all building, structural engineering, compliance verification, and certification requirements rests with the Purchaser.

The Purchaser must not depend upon the expertise or judgement of Alumina Haus when determining whether products are appropriate for any particular application. Where Alumina Haus provides advice, recommendations, specifications, information, or other assistance, such content is offered in good faith without assumption of liability, and is contingent upon the accuracy and completeness of information supplied by the Purchaser.

Alumina Haus has not undertaken site inspections and has therefore not evaluated site-specific conditions including but not limited to substrate composition, soil bearing capacity, wind loading classifications, site topography, access limitations, or final ground elevations.

Whilst Alumina Haus endeavours to accurately interpret measurements and site plans provided for manual quotation preparation, no responsibility is accepted for errors, misinterpretations, or omissions concerning dimensions, levels, or placement specifications. Verification of all site-related information remains the Purchaser’s obligation.

Alumina Haus has not assessed or confirmed compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC), Building Code of Australia (BCA), state or local government planning regulations, or relevant Australian Standards including AS1926.1 (swimming pool barriers), AS1170.1, or AS1657 (balustrades and structural loading requirements).

By proceeding with any purchase or installation, the Purchaser and/or their appointed installer acknowledges full responsibility for obtaining independent professional engineering and compliance verification (where applicable) prior to commencement of installation works.

All installation work must comply with applicable legislation, codes, standards, and manufacturer specifications. Alumina Haus accepts no liability whatsoever for installation defects, damage, or non-compliant product usage, including circumstances where Alumina Haus has referred the Purchaser to an installer.

The Purchaser bears sole responsibility for securing all necessary building permits and certifications. The Purchaser hereby indemnifies and holds harmless Alumina Haus, including its directors, officers, employees, contractors and successors, against any claims, damages or losses arising from unauthorised, incorrect or modified use or installation of Alumina Haus products.

Balustrade Applications: Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Alumina Haus panels are not engineered, designed, or certified for deployment as balustrades or in any capacity requiring load-bearing or fall-arrest functionality. Use of Alumina Haus products in such applications is expressly prohibited.

Fixings and Fasteners: Unless explicitly stated otherwise, fixings are not included and must be independently selected and procured to suit substrate conditions and site requirements.

Concrete Footing Requirements: For Alumina Haus post installations, a standard concrete mix or designated Post Set Mix should be utilised. Rapid-setting or quick-setting concrete formulations are not recommended by product manufacturers due to elevated corrosion risk when used with aluminium components. Deployment of accelerated-cure products such as Quick Set or Rapid Set concrete (or equivalent) with Alumina Haus products will invalidate warranty entitlements.

Powder Coating: Alumina Haus products feature powder coating from Commercial Performance Coatings AAMA 2604 Texture.

All powder-coated surfaces are subject to inherent batch-to-batch variation in colour tone, surface texture, and gloss characteristics. Such variations are intrinsic to industrial powder coating processes and may manifest between production cycles or when coatings are applied by different applicators. Whilst Alumina Haus maintains quality controls for colour consistency, precise matching between batches or to previously manufactured products cannot be assured. Minor aesthetic variations do not constitute product defects and are not covered under warranty.

Manufacturing Tolerances: All Alumina Haus products are manufactured to industry-standard tolerances of ±3mm. Variations within these tolerances are acceptable and do not constitute a manufacturing defect.

Swing Gate Systems: Installation of swing gates, including paired gate configurations, requires careful consideration of structural loading and post support capacity to prevent premature failure.

Please note the following:

Alumina Haus has not evaluated the structural adequacy or load-bearing capacity of existing substrates for post mounting applications.

Determination of appropriate fixing methodology and verification that existing substrates can withstand applied loads remains the responsibility of the Purchaser and/or installer.

Substrates including single-skin brick, unfilled blockwork, timber framing, or lightweight cladding materials may prove unsuitable for gate hinging or latching without supplementary reinforcement.

Where substrate suitability is uncertain, installation via new in-ground posts set in appropriately dimensioned footings is recommended where feasible.

Refer to published guidance regarding post strength requirements relative to gate widths.

Gate and post installations should undergo periodic inspection and maintenance to ensure continued stability, safety, and operational performance.

Alumina Haus accepts no liability for damage or failure resulting from inadequate substrates, incorrect fastening, or site-specific installation methodologies.

Alumina Haus panels and gates of 1200mm height or greater have been evaluated by a NATA-accredited engineering facility as meeting the dimensional and strength criteria specified in Australian Standard AS1926.1 for swimming pool safety barriers.

Compliance is not determined solely by product specification—it is additionally influenced by site-specific and installation-specific variables including but not limited to:

State and local government authorities may impose supplementary requirements or alternative interpretations of the standard, which can differ by council jurisdiction.

To facilitate certification processes, Alumina Haus strongly recommends engaging a licensed pool safety inspector during the planning phase to verify that proposed installations will satisfy all applicable compliance and approval criteria. Alumina Haus does not provide site-specific compliance advice.

Installers should observe the following non-exhaustive requirements when installing pool barrier systems:

MANDATORY MAINTENANCE — WARRANTY VALIDITY DEPENDS ON COMPLIANCE

To maintain warranty coverage, products MUST be cleaned at minimum every six (6) months, or more frequently in coastal, industrial, or high-pollution areas. Failure to maintain products according to these requirements will void the warranty.

Standard Maintenance Requirements:

Important: Evidence of neglect, including excessive dirt buildup, salt accumulation, or lack of basic care, may result in warranty claim denial. Alumina Haus reserves the right to assess maintenance compliance through visual inspection. Full maintenance requirements are detailed in the Product Warranty document available at www.aluminahaus.com.au/warranty

Stock availability communicated during quotation preparation is indicative only and subject to change without notice. Alumina Haus cannot guarantee stock availability between quotation issue and payment receipt. If stock becomes unavailable, Alumina Haus will notify the Purchaser and propose alternative options or revised delivery schedules.

Payment in full must be received prior to collection or dispatch of goods. Title in all goods remains vested in Alumina Haus until full payment is received. All quoted pricing includes Goods and Services Tax (GST) at the prevailing rate.

Risk in goods transfers to the Purchaser upon collection or delivery, whichever occurs first.

Any assertion that goods were damaged in transit, incorrectly supplied, or do not match the order must be submitted in writing within twenty-four (24) hours of collection or delivery. Claims must include photographic or video evidence clearly depicting the damage, shortage, or discrepancy and be directed to info@aluminahaus.com

Where no claim is lodged within this timeframe, goods are deemed accepted by the Purchaser.

For manufacturing defects discovered before or after installation, refer to Section 11 (Product Warranty) above and the Product Warranty document available at www.aluminahaus.com.au/warranty for the warranty claims process and timeframes.

Third-Party Freight (Door Delivery): Orders dispatched via third-party freight carriers are subject to carrier delivery schedules and terms. Purchasers must be available to receive and assist with unloading. Orders are shipped on pallets requiring Purchaser disposal. Once collected by the freight carrier, all risk transfers to the Purchaser.

Estimated delivery timeframes are indicative only and do not constitute grounds for cancellation or compensation.

Where cost efficiency and rapid turnaround are priorities (or where the Purchaser cannot be present for delivery), Alumina Haus strongly recommends depot collection, which typically offers faster processing, lower costs, and flexible collection timing.

Depot Collection: Orders delivered to freight carrier depot facilities are subject to carrier schedules and terms. Once collected by the freight carrier, all risk transfers to the Purchaser. Orders must be collected promptly following notification to avoid carrier storage fees. Purchasers must arrange appropriate transport and securing equipment. Loading assistance is not guaranteed, and the Purchaser assumes all risk of injury and damage during loading.

Important Notice: In all scenarios, the Purchaser or their representative involved in collection or unloading must possess adequate physical capability to handle heavy and/or oversized items. Alumina Haus panels may be packaged in pairs and may weigh up to 70kg. These can be separated to individual pieces, halving this weight. The Purchaser must ensure (and is responsible for arranging) sufficient labour assistance for loading/unloading operations.

Delivery delays may occur during peak demand periods.

Alumina Haus provides a fifteen (15) year warranty on its premium aluminium fencing products, covering manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and proper maintenance.

Important Warranty Conditions:

Complete warranty terms, coverage details, exclusions, and claims procedures are detailed in the Product Warranty document available at www.aluminahaus.com.au/warranty. Purchasers are strongly encouraged to review the full warranty document prior to purchase.

This warranty does not limit or exclude any rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Products may be returned within fourteen (14) days of purchase provided they remain in original, unmarked, uninstalled condition. Returns are not accepted for goods that have been deployed, damaged, modified, or installed. Custom-manufactured or made-to-order products are ineligible for return or exchange.

No Returns for Change of Mind: Alumina Haus does not accept returns where the Purchaser has simply changed their mind about the purchase, ordered incorrect specifications, or selected the wrong product. Purchasers are responsible for ensuring all product selections, colours, dimensions, and specifications are correct before placing an order. It is strongly recommended that Purchasers carefully verify their requirements prior to purchase.

Purchasers may elect either a refund of the purchase price for returned products or exchange for alternative products of equivalent value.

Freight and shipping costs are non-refundable under this policy. The Purchaser bears all return freight expenses and must ensure goods are adequately packaged to prevent transit damage. Alumina Haus accepts no liability for goods lost or damaged during return transit. Where requested, Alumina Haus may arrange third-party freight collection at the Purchaser’s cost. All collection and freight charges associated with returns are the sole responsibility of the Purchaser.

Alumina Haus will communicate the outcome of return requests within three (3) to five (5) business days of receiving returned goods. Where refunds are approved, processing will occur promptly to the original payment method. Allow seven (7) to ten (10) business days for merchant processing.

Quotations remain valid for thirty (30) days unless otherwise specified. Pricing and lead times are subject to variation where scope, specifications, or quantities change following quotation issue.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alumina Haus liability is limited to replacement, repair, or refund (partial or complete) of defective goods. Alumina Haus shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, special, or incidental losses arising from product use, installation, delay, or supply.

The Company’s liability under warranty is limited to repair, replacement, or refund as determined at Alumina Haus’s sole discretion. Warranty coverage specifically excludes freight costs, labour expenses associated with removal or installation of replacement products, personal injury, loss of income, consequential damages, or any other indirect losses arising from or caused by defective products.

Commercial Use Limitation: If the products are not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic, or household use or consumption, Alumina Haus’s liability for any consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law is limited to, at the Company’s discretion: (a) the resupply of the products, or (b) the payment of the cost of supplying the products again.

All payments must be rendered in accordance with these terms. Overdue amounts accrue interest at 10% per annum, calculated daily from due date until full payment is received. The Purchaser agrees to reimburse all costs incurred by Alumina Haus in recovering overdue amounts, including legal, collection agency, and administrative expenses. Alumina Haus reserves the right to suspend supply or cancel orders for accounts in arrears.

Neither party bears liability for non-performance attributable to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, armed conflict, terrorism, industrial action, fire, flood, drought, severe weather events, pandemic-related disruptions, or international logistics delays.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

These Terms and Conditions and the Product Warranty are provided in addition to other rights and remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law and do not limit or exclude any statutory rights you may have.

Should any provision be determined invalid, void, illegal, or unenforceable, such determination does not affect the validity of remaining provisions. All goods are governed by Queensland law, and Alumina Haus bears no responsibility for legislative changes affecting supplied goods.

Alumina Haus is not liable for any indirect loss or expense incurred by the Purchaser arising from breach of these terms and conditions.

By accessing, browsing, or utilising this website, or by making a purchase from Alumina Haus, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and the Product Warranty, including any subsequent amendments. If you do not accept any component of these terms, you must refrain from using this website or placing orders through it. Alumina Haus may modify or update these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.

The Purchaser acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with all maintenance requirements specified in Section 6 and the Product Warranty document as a condition of warranty coverage.
